This project focuses on interpreting dried anchovies through embroidery, deeply inspired by my mother’s lifelong practice as a traditional embroidery artist. Through the repetitive act of stitching, the medium becomes a visceral line of connection between my mother and myself.

Alongside this textile practice, the process is anchored by written records (Notes on Embroidery) and mixed-media material studies on paper.

Rather than a mere collective commodity, each anchovy is isolated and treated as a physical vessel of displaced memory and diaspora, exploring the sensory and semantic expansion of a stitched narrative.
