This work is part of a series of twelve paintings created in 2023–24 on the theme Deconstruction of Volume. While designing in Illustrator, I became intrigued by the contrasting properties of Open Path and Closed Path, which led me to question whether similar properties exist in the physical world.

This inquiry shaped the project, where I deconstructed and rearranged objects with distinctive volumes, such as heirloom tomatoes and skyscrapers, into fragmented
compositions. I also explored confining amorphous natural phenomena, like light and sunsets, into closed forms.

Despite repeated deconstruction, new Closed Paths emerged, offering insights into the principles of Cubism, which I had previously understood from textbooks, now reconsidered through the lens of digital tools.
